BEXHILL-ON-SEA
Bexhill is a quiet, select, residential town by the sea between Eastbourne
and Hastings. With four miles of unspoilt beaches and promenade and the
famous De La Warr Pavilion, and in the midst of historic 1066 country, it
offers a quiet charm missing from many busier resorts. It is in fact
something of a find, especially favoured for retirement with its excellent
transport and medical services and wide choice of bungalows and flats within
easy reach of the shops and seafront. It is also an ideal place for
families, with a good choice of schools, and numerous clubs and societies,
two golf courses, indoor and outdoor bowls, sailing and rowing clubs, and
parks and recreation grounds that offer cricket, football and tennis.
In this unspoiled corner of East Sussex, Bexhill is 60 miles from London,
Gatwick is 50 miles, Dover 48 miles and Newhaven 25 miles. Frequent trains
run from London Victoria and Gatwick as well as Charing Cross (via St
Leonards).
